This product is part of an open edition print release of the original oil painting,

"I AM THAT I AM".

Each print comes signed with a card description of the painting.

The title of this painting comes from a passage in Exodus where the Lord is talking to Moses. The Israelites were being oppressed. After the fall of mankind, we no longer had direct access to God. So I’d imagine people had the question in their hearts “Who is God?” I think we all have asked that question at some point in our lives.

This was the first time in scripture where God stated his own name. At that time in history there were so many other “gods” being worshiped by different people groups.

Before Moses had this encounter with God, they called him “Elohim” or “El Shaddai”. When God gave a name for his people to call him it conveyed his dominion over all things. He is self-sufficient, self-sustaining. The God who was, is and always will be.

The Hebrew writing on his hood translates,

“I AM THAT I AM”

Exodus 3:14 “God replied to Moses, “I AM THAT I AM. Say this to the people of Israel: I AM has sent me to you.”
