Oil on birch panel

This painting for me is about who I aim to be as a person and as an artist.
When I started painting back in 2017 , I really felt like it came from no where. I had never really done many artistic things in my life or felt that I was creative in any way. So when I sat down in front of a canvas for the first time it was really out of curiosity. I had been painting nail art on my clients nails and was curious to see if I could paint on a bigger scale.
When we moved to TN in 2020 is when I really started taking my art seriously.
Every single time someone gives me a compliment on my work I am incredibly thankful and humbled because to this day I still believe it has nothing to do with me. This is a gift my gracious Father gave me and I will aim to glorify Him with it for the rest of my days.
My “Artist verse” is Matthew 5:16
Chapter 5 in Matthew is the famous Sermon on the Mount. Jesus was speaking to a large crowd and began with The B attitudes telling them blessed are the . . . For they will receive . . . He was giving us a road map for how to live our lives and follow Him. He then went on to say that we are the salt of the earth and explained how salt preserves and adds flavor, then says that we are the light of the world and we are to let our light (which comes from Him) shine before men to glorify our Father in Heaven. So that is what this painting is all about. If you have a story where God has delivered you from something, restored something in you, saved you, healed you, SHARE IT!!! Tell the world what He has done for you.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
