Jesus turning water into wine was the first miracle of the signs and wonders

of his ministry. I think for some Christians this miracle is kind of overlooked. Like it’s cool and amazing but not the same as making the lame walk and the blind see. To me, He was saying, “ oh you ran out of wine? Watch what I can do with this water. . . Into lives that are imperfect, He breathes His perfection and transformation. Now imagine how He can meet the rest of your needs in light of this. It reminds me of the verse that talks about being faithful in the small things. He is the God who cares for our needs. He is Jehovah-Jireh ‎ג׳ובס ג׳רה The Lord will provide.

I also want to highlight the fact that He chose a wedding for his first miracle.

Emphasizing the sanctity of marriage in His design and economy.

“Now there were six stone water jars there for the Jewish rites of purification, each holding twenty or thirty gallons. Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And he said to them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast.” So, they took it. When the master of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then the poor wine. But you have kept the good wine until now.” This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him.”
